My dad likes to tell this story about me. I was about 5 yrs old and my mom made mashed potatoes for the roast and gravy.

I was perplexed and said “mama. Where’s the rice?”

I basically had never experienced gravy without rice.

My last meal would be roast and rice and gravy.
