The obvious answer is the obvious thing.

We have more mental health awareness now than ever, it’s not that.

As a society we’ve lost all personal responsibility. The things we’ve allowed to become common place in entertainment have now become common place in our society. Rap music, video games, pornography, violent movies all combined with the loss of two parent homes and the dissolution of the family combine to cause all this.

Throw in social media and it’s a powder keg.

That’s right.

I forgot that there was no rap music, video games, pornography, violent movies and one-parent households BEFORE mass shooting started happening.

-Devolving from religion
-Broken families
-Mental health
-Society struggling to cope or handle adversity
-The internet and social media (which adversely effects mental health and arguably disrupts family time, may lead to broken homes, and such)

All of those things you listed were almost as prevalent in the periods of falling gun violence (2000-2008, 2016-2020) as they are today.
