it seems too soon for something like this. It doesn't feel like anyone is tired of the movies, and HBO is trying to fill the gap GoT left. I'll definitely watch, but could have waited another 5-10 years for them to reboot it.

a good example of this being able to expand on the books is Ginny Weasley.
Based on the movies Harry should have ended up with Cho. Getting with Ginny just seemed forced.
In the books they flesh out how Harry has been obsessing about Ginny and how he really cared for her and liked her. She's a way better character in the books also. Even though her actress is very good in the movies she had shite scripts to work with.
