There's not a whole lot of difference between a low-end spin up and straight line winds greater than 80mph. The rotation, not even tornadic, will damn sure find any roof leaks for you, though. Rain abruptly changing directions tends to do that.

That's not saying not to take shelter. If that spin-up sits down right on top of your house, it will take some damage.

That’s what our local guy on WLKY was saying. They didn’t see any strong rotation but the gusts were pretty high and triggered the warning.

We’ve seen some of those gusts the last couple big systems and have thankfully done ok (knock on wood).
