Based off biology. We as humans weren’t really on the gender is a social construct when male and female roles were being formed in the beginning.

Think about it. You don’t even have to have a shitload of knowledge to understand. In ancient times why would it make sense to send the breast feeding woman out to hunt and leave the man that can’t physically nourish the child at home? It’s common sense mate. It’s all based off the biological differences between the sexes.
