So Ukraine needed time to build up its forces to defend against a Russian invasion. Seems prudent considering Russia did invade.
Russia is in far worse shape now than before. They’ve expended material that will take years to replenish and caused NATO members to expand and increase their own expenditures.
Russia is a rotting corpse that hasn’t yet realized it is dead.
Even if Russia can end up claiming some sort of military victory in Ukraine(doubtful) they weakened themselves significantly while pushing NATO to become significantly stronger.
