ESPN and MLB both made the same huge mistake. When twitter and youtube became a popular thing, they tried to get out front of a problem that they didn't even have. They assumed that the younger generation would get their highlights from the internet on their phones and no one would watch an hour of highlight shows.

What they failed to realize was that waking up or going to sleep and having highlights on was the daily routine for tons of people. Baseball Tonight was incredible. I got see the web gems, home runs, standings, who was hot and who was pitching well while I was going to sleep. SC would show all the highlights of ever game in NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL and every top 25 matchup in NCAAB and CFB. In 1 hours you got the day in sports, standings, major story lines, etc. without having to go look at it.

That is what people want back. The slow burn, on in the background, boring but informative sports day to go to sleep too or wake up too. Too bad that doesn't exist anymore.
