I understand laying off people when needed but I get somewhat angry knowing 9000 people lost their jobs because a very small subset of people were trying to maintain their standard of living keeping their yachts and mansions

I hear you, but these tech companies are a bit of a different situation. I went through the 10ks, with the exception of Apple, most of them raised head count by ~80-100% in the last ~2-3 years, much of it in “talent”, “product leads”, “customer success”, DEI. Then they love to tell others how they work too much and post online about it.

I hate seeing people lose their jobs too, but let’s not act like these were hardworking blue-collar types that have just become a synergy. I’ve gotten calls from tech corp fin jobs and generally pass as they always are hiring too much at once.
