Don't think Walker was ever a choice.

Millerville, yes (IMO, that would have been a cluster for traffic)

Millerville was 4 lanes already since shortly after the Target was built though. Despite that I don't think it was a great spot for this because of the traffic on I-12 specifically (not Millerville).

The place where they want to build this near Ruston was recently upgraded, but it's probably going to need to be expanded again. It's a similar format to the new Juban Crossing interchange in Livingston that they built 10 years or so ago with the turn lanes and semi-controlled access...except the overpass itself is only 2 lanes wide with turn lanes. It probably should be 4 lanes with dual turn lanes.
