Yes. Think about what just keeping house in 1900 looked like. Scrubbing your clothes in a wash tub and hanging them to dry. No microwave, takeout, frozen dinners, or pre-made meals. No dishwasher after the dinner you cooked.
If you got a splinter, you may die from it. People had so much more appreciation for life because it wasn't guaranteed.
Life was BUSY and dangerous. Now it is not.
We now need safe spaces in our air conditioned office buildings to drink our venti chai soy mocha lattes with cold foam.
