Yes, once i get our flights booked my plan was to find something cheap and close for the layover.

How is the airport in Nassau. Everything I have seen is to give 2-3 hours for connections. Arriving won't be a problem since we do not make the flight to Deadman's Cay in any scenario. The flight back arrives at Nassau at 12pm. There are options for 1:30pm and 3:55pm back to ATL. Is 1:30 cutting it too close?

There are no customs until arriving back in the US right?

You will go through US customs in Nassau. It's very quick. From Deadman's if you fly Bahamasair or whatever you will have to walk from the local terminal to international which is like 5-10 minutes. Then security is pretty quick honestly so as long as local flight back to Nassau is on time you should be fine with 1:30.

If you fly with Stella Maris you will be at the executive air part of the airport and have to take a cab to the main airport.
