Here are the final 2023 Indy 500 qualifying results.

Chevy got 8 cars in the Fast 12 at the end of Saturday and dominated the Fast 12 qualifying this morning to set Rows 3 and 4. I was sure Chevy was going to get pole. But Alex Palou put in a monster 4 laps in what has to be seen as an upset. I don't think VeeKay and Rosenqvist have what it takes to win yet, but I think anyone else in the Top 10 starters can win. I think I would put Palou, Dixon, and O'Ward as the favorites, with Santino as a dark horse. Santino races great at Indy but I'm not sure the AJ Foyt team can pull it off vs Ganassi or McLaren.

Take a look at Benjamin Pedersen in the middle of the 4th row. His entire field of view is former Indy 500 winners.

Down at the bottom, Team Rahal had a miserable day trying to get their three full-time drivers into the field. Graham Rahal ended up the odd-man out, 30 years after his dad got bumped from the 1993 Indy 500.

Abel Motorsports deserves a lot of recognition. Their Indy 500 effort got pieced together really late so they missed the Indy open test a few weeks ago. So last Wednesday was their first time on track with an unproven car, and RC Enerson put it into the race yesterday without having to go through bump qualifying today. Amazing job by those guys.
