An AJ Foyt car on pole with an American driver would be hugely popular, and that's what I'm rooting for at this point. I think any of the four Chevy drivers could take pole. I think it would be a big upset if one of the Hondas takes pole.
I think Dixon, O'Ward, and Palou are still the favorites to win the race. Felix has been a fantastic qualifier on big ovals, but has not raced as well he qualifies. Santino has a great record at Indy so far (always finishes in the top 10), but I'm not sure the AJ Foyt team can out-perform Ganassi and McLaren. Rinus VeeKay is a great qualifier at Indy (never started below P4) and I'd like to see him win one, but his performances lately have not been great.
Pole Shootout and Bump Qualy 4:00 PM ET (NBC)
To set Rows 1 and 2 (P1-P6)
Plus the slowest four cars will compete for the last row of the grid. One car will go home!

Rossi will contend from the third row.
As always though in the DW12 era of the 500, there will be 3-4 guys who have the race pace and the one who has clean pit stops and manages fuel mileage best will win.
