Our receivers - what say you?

Being in Dallas, I am forced to watch a lot of Big 12 games; however, I keep noticing that there is a big difference in which receivers seem to play the game in Texas, T Tech, OK St and OK and the way we play.
Their receivers
-go up and try to get the ball at the highest point,
-they attack the ball
-they may a play at each and every ball, whether it is well thrown or not
our receivers seem to wait for a "perfect" ball to come to them. It seems as if our receivers can only catch a ball up to a "6" degree of difficulty (for the lack of a better way to put it),
while theirs catch much more difficult balls.
Why?, what do we need?
specially since the game seems to be demanding more and more of the passing game.

our receivers- have no choice. they HAVE to go up and try to make the catch.

they attack the ball
our receivers- ARE attacked immediately due to making the catch in double coverage.

our receivers- understand that when the ball is 5 fricking yards from them, that it doesn't pay to look stupid by making an "attempt" especially diving at nothing.

a q.b.

I think they know if it is not a perfect ball then they may get killed. That has to get old. Especially if you are an underclassmen who knows he has another year to live for or a senior who has any chance at a draft pick. Sad but true.
No judgements can be made of WR's with the QB situation as is.

It just seems as if too many of GOOD catches are dropped.
I know that our QB situation is a bad one now, but should that not mean that the receivers should try even harder to help out the QB ?
I just do not see Colt for example, having an 80% completion rate if he was throwing to our receivers.

You know, I couldn't help but notice the same thing. Don't get me wrong, the vast majority of the picks and incompletions haven't been the WR's fault, but there have been plenty of times when I saw a reciever fail to either layout for the ball, or really try to jump up and get it. They need to show more desire to get the ball...

I noticed this too. The reason why LSU does not do this is the same reason we dont tackle. COACHING.

Sounds like you are saying it's ok for them to give up????? Maybe I'm missing this comment?

"What great things would you attempt if you knew you would not fail"
It seems as if failing is preventing some from trying.......or ????
I just do not see basic techniques for a WR being used by ours.

You need TMTDM receivers. 21 different receiver this catch pass this year (20 if you not count QB and Lineman that catch pass). LSU only have 11.
Plus, TMTDM QB throw pretty good, but play calling help him succeed. He not just chunk down field like maniac. He 40 of 50 3 game ago, with 38 of those thrown less than 10 yards or more. We roll up 498 yard last year against UGa with only pass longer than 30 yard.

Not OK but human nature. Especially when the QB struggles to throw swing passes and passes out in the flat like he was this week. They know they are struggling and a BCS game out so they may be shutting it down a bit. Or at least they did in THAT game.

I wasn't impressed with the route running this past weekend either. It seems that we have two receivers in the same spot, or within a couple yards of each other, on too many occasions.

I find it odd that none of our receivers care, yet one might be selected First Team All SEC...

I noticed that too, on one of Tolliver's catches on the last TD drive, and on that 3rd down pass Lee sailed to Dickson.

Thank you that compliment compare what some say - including fellow TMTDMers.

You've been on here adding nothing but pointless flames and I wish you good luck lasting on here without actually contributing to discussions. I don't mind other team's fans coming on and posting, but you just suck at life.
