I have 3 boys and a girl. Ages 34 to 43.

Oldest is a manager at a car collision service. He likes his job and it pays well. He has 3 children and is 43. Very easy going and obedient child. He was divorced a few years ago and is getting married again in May. We are very happy for him.

Second son, 38, was our challenge. He was the most intelligent and very handsome. He was home schooled because he wasn’t a sit at a desk all day kid. Very easy to teach and receptive. His problem was the girls and drugs. Spent 8 years in the 82nd Airborne with tours in South Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan. After getting out of the army and a brief stint in jail, he is clean and sober. He works on helicopters at a local airport, which was his army job. So far, so good. No kids.

Daughter, 42, mother of 2 college graduates, one with a with Masters, the other working on it. She’s been in admin positions at 2 major banks since high school. Married 21 years. It’s a mixed marriage and they are very happy. Humor carries them through any rough spots.

Youngest son, 34, is a police detective. He is married to a pediatrician and has 2 children. He was homeschooled until high school then was class valedictorian when he graduated. He was the easiest to raise.

All in all, I’d say between being determined to provide a good home and strong marriage (42 years), always belonging to a Bible preaching church and homeschooling the youngest two, we made it through.

Many blessings to you as you start out.
