Wife and I are both 44. Will be empty nesters in 5 months. Oldest is a freshman at LSU. She has a great head on her shoulders. In pre-vet and crushed first semester, just like her mom always did in college. Son is a senior in high school with a good head on his shoulders also. National Merit Finalist that will attend either LSU or Kentucky in civil engineering.

As others have said, there will be bumps along the way. However, if you emphasize family, respect and hard work, they will turn out as good productive members of society.

i also will be 44 when my kids are out of the house. i absolutely love the hectiness most days of have two kids in sports, but i have to admit the excitement of being 44 and no kids in the house and not sporting events 3-4 nights a week, every week, will be an interesting turn.

i will brag. i am 66. great mom involved as well. oldest to youngest. daughter and her husband very successful. have 2 boys. son coached in big12, football scoop coach of the year, wife is a great teacher, 2 boys. daughter was college athlete, her and her husband work in education, 2 boys and 3 girls. son, college athlete, he and wife are successful, have boy and girl. youngest owns his own business, does good, wife is hs coach, very successful, 2 boys
