my parents are west Texas rednecks who raised my sister and i with the same firm hand.
i'm a 39 yo libertarian Christian that moved out at 19 and never went back home. graduated college with no help and no student loan debt. 2 kids, steady income.
my sister is 43, lived at home till she was 27, is a communist lesbian who is still in student debt and is 100 lbs over weight and has type 2 diabetes. she is still dependent on my parents.
same upbringing and training.
ETA: my sons are 13 and 16 currently. i don't care about their financial success or if they turn out to be communists. i care that they are kind, Christlike men that are protectors.
