Good point. Background. The one deer Ive shot with it had a tiny exit wound. Luckily I hit lung so it dripped blood but I’m hunting in thick woods and found that’s the deer either made it further or the track was harder. Summed up to being used to seeing blood spurting with the shot I made. It was shot using a 140 grain bullet which I’ve seen to be maybe on the higher end for what I’ve seen here and heard from buddies.

In thick woods, you need to make a high shoulder shot and drop them right there.

Deer aren’t that hard to kill. Most any bullet should do the job. If not, it’s time to return to calibers such as the .30-06 and the .308. When’s the last time we had to have multiple threads about what bullet to shoot from a .30-06?
