I'm not saying Mahomes as a comp in the NFL, but Mahomes as a prospect b/c of coming from the air raid and padding stats against shite defense (Richardson would have eaten had he gotten that opportunity).

Mahomes definitely impressed in interviews about his ability to read the game which is what jumped him in the draft from the 2nd/3rd round range to the early 1st.

It clearly looks insane in hindsight, but there is a reason why Mahomes was never considered the top QB and people thought he was a reach when the Chiefs selected him. As a prospect, he had major flaws and red flags.

If Richardson has the mental part of the game down, like Mahomes showed, that's a major box checked off. It means he can overcome terrible coaching by a guy like Billy Napier and playing without WRs in that shitty system.

*ETA: I still wouldn't touch him until the late 1st in a stable place where he can sit for a year or 2 to work on his mechanics.
