Are bald eagles still endangered?
quote:
Although we removed the bald eagle from the list of threatened and endangered species under the Endangered Species Act, the bird continues to be protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. Both laws prohibit killing, selling or otherwise harming eagles, their nests or eggs.
I knew a guy about 45 years ago who was raided by local police for having a pot, weed patch behind his house. When his house was searched a bald eagle was found mounted on a wall in his house. He went to federal prison for it for a few years.
