Not sure how a small city on the coast of California would be considered “surprisingly” beautiful.
Although it’s waaay to much for me, I think NYC is about as pretty as a big city can be. They do a really good job with green spaces, and the urban jungle has its moments.
I’ve been to some mega cities around the world. NYC is doing a lot of things right.
