Except that Mike seems to always be "at the movies" when big recruiting news breaks.

And subsequently Sonny always seems to break the news far ahead of lil Mike. Mike refuses to promote Louisiana athletes properly, and this in turn hurts LA boys that are trying to get their names out there. Skike only promotes athletes from the Lafayette area, by some reports. Mike Scarbrough also once said Mike Ford isn't an SEC caliber runningback.

I could go on, but it is FAR FAR more than just petty BS.

It is Skike being asleep at the wheel.

Sonny is ALWAYS on the spot, and he answers your questions in a very timely manner. Sonny seems to live and breath LSU football recruiting.

I have been a member of both, and I can honestly say:

Sonny>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Skike

Slight edge to Rivals' layout and tools, but breaking news and info on-demand are FAR more important to me than tools or formats.

Rivals is prettier, Scout is better.

Not that Sonny has has never been wrong before, but as of right now Sonny is doing a better job.

Mike has had needless conflicts with many.

Rivals site is far better than Scouts, but on LSU recruiting its night and day.

I belong to both and will continue to be a member of both, as these things tend to run in cycles. Mike ran the best site for many years, for now Sonny is ahead; but over time and staff changes and people tend to burn out it will flip again.

Mike has followed LSU closely for a long time and as I have posted before, I think he burned out a few years ago and lacked that passion he had at one time.

Roaad...I'm not an apologist for Mike and I don't know your exact situation so I will leave that be. I am not a guy who sits on the site all day but I do have a few rebuttals in Mike's defense (since not many on here give him a fair shake):

1. He waits to hear news from his sources (the kid, kid's parents, or coach) and I respect that. If he breaks a story late b/c he want to be accurate so be it.

2. I believe Mike calls it like he sees it. He puts his rankings list forward to Rivals (started and run by Bama Backers) and lets the chips fall where they may. As far as Ford goes, Mike said Ford was hurt his Jr. year and was witholding judgment. I do not recall him saying Ford was not SEC caliber. He did say he had a lot to prove his senior year.

3. Mike's stories this year have been from all over the state...maybe he is taking the hint from some of this criticism...like I said I don't know b/c I'm not that engaged.

You would be in a better position to answer which site is better b/c I don't pay to Sonny's site...but for all of those who are looking to join and taking opinions remember there are always two sides to a story and the truth is always in the middle.
