Food: Different brands companies sub out their lines and products to different manufacturers. Store brands come from the same lines as the name brand items.

It is so relatively easy for companies to sub out manufacturing to allow other companies to pickup all the problems and concerns of manufacturing. There probably even tax advantages doing it this way. Just look at even an iPhone, Apple is not manufacturing it at an Apple plant in China or now India. They are using Foxconn to manufacture it and stick an Apple logo on it.


Yesterday, I saw that Walmart sells similar flavors of Girl Scout cookies but under its Great Value Brand. They cost half as much. I went ham on a package of these for 1.73:

Salt is included here… always buy the cheaper or store brand salt. All salt goes through the same process but just have a different label.
