You know I put that GFS split mini- humbucker in my Les Paul Jr. I like the way it sounds, my only (sort of) complaint, is the volume drop off when I switch to single coil mode. I put 500 k pots in it.
Do you think it might help to try a 250 k volume pot in it before I order the Seymour Duncan pickup?
Could that help with the volume drop off?
If that would work it would save me 100 bucks, but I don't want to waste my time either.
Your opinion is appreciated.

When you split a humbucker, you are killing approximately 50 percent of its output, regardless of pot value.

Your best and easiest tool in battling volume spikes/drops splitting a humbucker is a compressor/limiter/sustainer pedal.

I have other solutions but they cost more than $100. :)

I;m not doing shows, just writing and recording.
The limitation here is, It's got to stay in the original LPjr. format.
