So the cap hit means something now?
I said average cap hit, which reflects the actual amount paid over the contract. Just to be clear, I'm saying the average of all cap hits of the contract the team realized. The money actually paid to a player will be accounted on the cap, one way or another, which is reflected in the total cap hits.

With as much as we have manipulated the cap over the years that number is suppose to mean anything.
You do realize we ultimately pay the piper, on our cap, right?

That poster thought 15 a year was low. About half the league QBs made less.
First of all, the starting QB contracts should not be based on a population of all starters. Remove rookie contracts and it's a legitimate comparison (since Rookies don't get market rate due to CBA manipulation).
Second, as shown above, the article didn't use good data.
So, a bad population to compare + bad data compared. Quality output is guaranteed.

So now you are trying to move the goal posts to conform to your argument. Rookies are underpaid if they can start and perform. But they are still considered starters and their salary is taken into account in the rankings of salary. Some rookies are overpaid if taken high and turn out to be busts. It all averages out in the end.
This was cap charges for 2022. The 16th qb cap charge was around 12-13 million.
