My wife is obsessed with this case. We listened to the Murdaugh Murders podcast on a road trip, which is like 14 hours worth of episodes or something crazy.
So I've heard this story ad nauseum. We started the HBO series on it, and it just felt like we were rehashing the podcast and stuff we already knew.
The Netflix one, though, maintained my interest when we started it last night. The storytelling is compelling, and it has some interviews and footage that I've never seen before. They really went hard on the Murdaugh family and how screwed up they are, which helps, as they're pulling on punches.
That being said: dude is probably going to walk on the murder charges for his wife and son. The murder trial (according to my wife) has been interesting, because she said it allows you to see how sociopathically charismatic Alex Murdaugh is. He had jurors crying for his psychopathic arse when he was talking about the murder of his wife and kid (which he either did himself or knows how did it).
