most expensive --- 1997 corvette
New c6 body style fresh off the assembly line
at that time it looked like the batmobile.

*c5 . 1997 was the first year of the c5

Cheapest—Brand new Toyota Tercel in 1990…it was $9100
Prior to meeting my wife, I had an Infiniti G35 that was 38k…loved that car…still regret getting rid of it but it had 185,000 miles and needed $4500 in repairs…that car had major HOrse power…makes me sad.
Drive some absolute crap cars my dad bought for me and my siblings…Chevy Monza, oilfield Ford pickup with 65,000 of the hardest miles ever (auction Dad got it for $1809)…Ford Taurus with 80k miles on it, thing was falling apart, passenger seat in the front leaked every time it rained…all those cars were crap.

you are right c5

When I was first driving it on the i95 interstate MD the Maryland State Troupers on duty would swoop down beside me just to see the car

Another story... I had to get a last minute oil change for a long trip and I didn't have time to take it into the dealership so i took it to a nice garage and had to bring my own synthetic oil(at that time synthetic oil was in short supply)
I went back to pick up the car and the garage called every mechanic they knew, to come see the car --- there were like 16 gearheads there.
Aficionados

The reason they wanted to look --- the new configuration of the transmission and engine.
They were impressed
