Best thing I did was buy a cheap tablet. Stays connected to a charger in the car. I ripped all of the DVDs to small video files (don't need high res on a tablet) with VLC player, and the kid just had lots of movies available. Later, the DVD files were replaced by downloads from Netflix and Amazon.

That is what I would love to do but I’m too computer illiterate to rip dvds to video files lol
