Jesus was always portayed as almost non-human, untouchable, not like us. That and certain other things made me leave religion and question everything.
Something similar. I was a new convert in college As I grew and matured, it was fairly easy to grasp and believe Jesus’s Divinity.

I had a hard time getting my head around Jesus the fully flesh and blood man, just like me. Not immune to fatigue, stresses, emotions, temptations, but subject to them all, yet not succumbing to them and living a holy life in perfect obedience to his Heavenly Father. The Chosen has made that easier to grasp.

I have always thought the only halfway plausible argument someone could make to God was that he just couldn’t understand how hard it is to live in obedience to his commands with all the temptations and trials we have to deal with. Why don’t you come down here and you try to keep your own laws?

God’s unique son, born of a woman, fully human and fully divine ends that argument. If Jesus is only God he’s playing our game with a stacked deck. But fully human, that’s getting down in the trenches with me but getting it right and showing me the way. And tops it all off by taking the beating I earned and deserve.

The Chosen portrays Jesus’s humanity very effectively.

Interesting Job wrote this as though he were a prophet.
quote:

For he is not a man, as I am,
that I might answer him,
that we should come to trial together. There is no arbiter between us,
who might lay his hand on us both.
Job 9:32-33.
