I had one for a couple of years after I got married. Our first house was pretty small, and between her stuff and my stuff, plus the furniture my sister gave us when she moved, there wasn't room for it all.
When we bought our house, we cleared out the storage unit, kept what we wanted, and had a garage sale for the rest.
