Solid post, yeah the ergonomics aren't top shelf but workable for me. I've worked with the single monitor since lock-down started with no issues. Dual setup just gives me more workspace.

The point to the OP (dallastiger55) was that a dual (or triple display) setup with an HP laptop is doable with the right gear (hub in this case).

I just use a 49” Samsung Odyssey. Plenty of real estate for docs, spreadsheets and email.

This is what happens when threads go on for more than 24 hours, I thought you were OP, since I had it bookmarked to my latest comment. (BTW, is there an EPL forum I can't see somewhere here?)

There is too much tech info that is about to be discussed, but it may be useful for someone else.

I was dual widescreen (sub 30") for a while. But I had a work laptop I had to use for certain tasks. Space became a problem. I moved the "submit timesheet and expenses" laptop to the desk behind me for months. I jury rigged a way to run a RHEL VM with the expense/timesheet/HR type apps in Hyper-V on my main desktop (could have done it in VirtualBox too). Laptop got put away until I traveled. Using Virtual Desktops I set up work/play configs that I could click through nearly instantly. Desktop 1, personal BS. Desktop 2, Outlook 365 for work with the RHEL VM instance running. Get an alert on the phone that I get a Slack message, swap desktops from play to work, badda bing. Respond to work stuff, switch back and return to life.

Ended up giving the second widescreen to ex-wife to use in her office, as even 28" is enough for me to spread stuff around at default font size settings.
