I did this exact thing about four years ago on the same size yard. I ended up going with the hydroseed route. When you look at the equipment and what it takes to do it right you will probably break even. It was $2,500 to do the whole yard which included the seed and labor. Seeded Daniela Bermuda and really like it. IMO, Bermuda is the easiest grass type to have because of its drought resistance and ease of maintenance.

I drug hoses for four months and it was a huge PITA. I just could swing an irrigation system as well at the time. If you have that as an option it should make it a lot better.

If that ends up being close to my cost, it’s a no-brainer.
