Look, I remember Dale’s Tenure. He is celebrated because he was a charismatic figure who stood up for injustices. And the fact that some of his mediocre teams advanced further in the NCAA’s Tournament. You liked Dale if you were an LSU fan but thought he was psychotic if you were not an LSU fan.

Dale was a philosopher and historian. He was a motivator. Not the greatest basketball coach. Throw in a couple of FF runs and a “ Freak Defense” moniker and people ate that up.

If Trent johnson would had Dale’s record at LSU instead of Dale, Trent’s name would not be on the court.
