Once again, people that have no idea about course agronomy show up to tell everyone they are wrong. It takes mutliple applications of roundup to kill Bermuda grass. Even though they are digging them up or skimming the top 3-4 inches, you need to make sure the whole plant is dead. One application will not kill everything. if the roots or stolons survive, it will send up shoots and sprout. the last thing you want in a new green is the common bermuda or the old type bermuda on the greens emerging from the roots that may have been left and not killed off. Its coomon practice to make an application, verticut a few days later, aerify, and fertilize them with ammonium sulfate to promote growth of the plants not killed with RU. then make another application, and follow the same process for a total of 3-4 applications. Fusilade II herbicide is commonly mixed with roundup also as it has petty good control on bermuda and other off types that may have emerged and or mutated over time.
