it often wasn't called a foul back then.
which affected the way the game was played.

Hell Robert Parish literally punched Laimbeer in the playoffs, knocking him on his arse. No foul. No ejection.

You don't com barreling into the lane like Lebron does now knowing that Rodman, Oakley, Barkley, or a role playing goon like Rick Mahorn etc. are there waiting to deliver a thump.
