I don't know why people find it difficult to believe. Just look at how many prescription medications people are on. Hell, I can think of a handful at work that blurt out they're on adderall, lexapro, or some SSRI. The days of coping with life without drugs are pretty much over.
Odd that is the way you went with it but it brings up a point I've made in the past. My wife has dealt with fibromyalgia for 8 years or so and in the very beginning they thru every sort of opioid and anti depressant at her that you can think of. Some of the pills were directly for the fibromyalgia, some were for the nausea caused by those pills, some for the insomnia and anxiety they caused. It was an endless loop that pretty much left her bed ridden and unable to work. But then they legalized medical marijuana back when we still lived in Florida and her life changed. She was able to stop using the prescriptions and used certain sorts of MJ that masked the pain but left her the ability to live her life in a productive manner. Fibromyalgia is debilitating, it isn't something a person can just deal with without some sort of help, and prescriptions did nothing to help.
I think far too many people think all weed leaves a person stoned out and unproductive. It has had quite a different impact on her, plus a lot of my fellow Vets who also were in the same boat have had their lives changed due to MJ.
