No shite. It’s just an analogy. The people that are within the walls of your home or that damned chamber are what matter and if you’re tasked with protecting those people, you’ll shoot to kill. No one in a position to keep those people safe is going to open the door and say “come on in and let’s have a beer”. They kill perceived threats. That’s the job from their perspective.

Whether we think it was right or wrong is irrelevant.
