He’s challenged the west. It’s the same thing he did when he invaded Georgia then Ukraine in 2014. He ratcheted up his attacks in 2022 thinking the west would do nothing.

Since NATO is a large portion of the West, Putin certainly challenged NATO and this time they responded.

You can make excuses for Putin and say NATO forced his hand, or he was trying to make a move before his population grew old, or its the Nazis; however, the fact is he challenged the West again and the West finally reacted in a big way.

He challenged the west about like Tyre challenged the police.

"Hey Tyre, We're gonna handcuff you, then beat the sh*t out of you." "Oh! You ain't gonna let us cuff you? You're challenging us. Well we ain't got a choice except to beat you to death now. You shouldn't have challenged us."

The only difference is Tyre didn't have a mutual self-destruction button.
