re: Local News Anchor Salaries…

Back in the day, local news anchors were like celebrities in their towns. They probably still didn’t make very much but they got tons of perks and free shite around town. Nowadays no one cares about local news, so not only is their pay going down but their perks are gone too. I agree it must suck and I don’t know why anyone would want to do it. Most of the older people still in it are smartly parlaying their local relevancy into cushy, more stable “communications director” positions for local companies. They’re being replaced by kids right out of college who haven’t figured out what a dead end it is yet.
