Jefferson should transfer

it is obvious that Miles and this staff is not going to give this kid a chance to compete or play any significant amount of time. not to mention that they screwed him out of his red shirt. With Lee,Hatch, Garret and Shephard coming in I do not see any way he will get on the field. You have to feel bad for him getting jacked the way he has.

Obviously he is not ready, i don't blame miles for not putting him in the game, i do blame him for not getting him ready to play

I pretty much agree with that.

If he works hard and does better than everybody else, then he'll play. One good thing about having a few quarterbacks is the competition. It creates incentive to work hard. Too bad it doesn't seem to be working for any of them

Dude, it's so nice to have the luxury of knowing nothing except what we see on Saturday.
We can say JJ is this and should be that or that Lee sucks.
Should JJ have played more in the Tulane game, probably, Should JJ have gotten a few snaps in the Bammer game, yes.
Truth is we don't have a clue what he'll do. Keep enjoying the bliss of not knowing.

No. It's obvious to me that Miles understands that the kid is not ready and doesn't want to risk possibly ruining another kids confidence just to satisfy some immature, insecure fan base that thinks they know how to run a football program. You guys amaze me...you really do. Miles cares about this kid and his future as well as the future of the program. The plan was always to redshirt him. It has become obvious that he needs to get at least some snaps now due to him being the only backup we have. But the problem is when do you do that? The kid knows so little of the playbook (not a knock on him, Miles, or anyone else...it's just a freshman issue..period) to put him in versus Bama is not an option. I'd say you see him vs. Troy some, not because he's so ready but because we are in 911 mode with our QB situation. You guys are looking for someone to blame and there is no one. (unless you want to blame R Perrilloux) It's just the problems you get when you are forced to play a freshman QB with no real options behind him. Your upperclassman star was dismissed, your soph reserve is out. Cut everybody some slack and quit being so immature and selfish. Lord have mercy.

Simply put, if JJ is not ready, I'm sure they have known this all along. Why did they waste his RS?
Since Lee starts now, he will start next year. No way Miles lets JJ start over Lee after Lee has gained all this experience. That leaves Lee to come in next year for mop-up duty. Who knows how much PT that will be? Also RS will be here next year and he will get on the field in some fashion and will also be learning the QB position.
The following year Lee will definitely start and split time with RS moe so than JJ. RS is too big of a recruit to not garnish PT in his 2nd yr. So between now and then, how much PT will JJ really get?
Him transferring would not be the best thing for LSU but it would be the best thing for him. I would not be mad because I feel kids should go where they are NEEDED and not where they are WANTED. I would rather see him be given an honest opportunity to earn PT at another school rather than watch this kid sit on the bench behind a QB that performed as poorly as he did Saturday.
I don't think anyone here really believes that Lee's performance did not warrant JJ getting at least 1 snap in that game, to say the least.
We all talk about Lee and his confidence and they treat the kid like he is emotionally fragile. What about JJ? Imagine if you went to practice and worked hard and did what the coaches asked and had to sit on the bench through that performance. You start wondering, "Damn, if I can't come in and get some PT behind a QB having a performance like that, will I ever play".
Since they wasted his RS, they may as well use him some. It's only fair. After all, he did come here for an OPPORTUNITY. If he plays like shite, so what! Lee is playing like shite and he's been here longer AND knows the play-book.

I hate to say this, but if he doesn't get an opportunity this year, I think he will consider it. They blew his rs so far, for him to hand the ball off against Tulane and an option play against Moo St. I hope Miles will play him this weekend and he will do well, so we can see him against Ole Miss and Arky. Even if he sets the world on fire, he will not start against Ole Piss or Arky.

Byrd should transfer too since he isn't getting as many throws his way. I wish all the idiots in our fanbase would get into an argument with that Alabama fan who shot the two LSU fans.

In the pantheon of absurd posts (a distinguished category on this board), this one might take center stage.

LSU 2009--first 4 QB system in history

When players come here, I think most of them do so with the understanding that there will be competition and they won't be four year starters. When Jefferson committed, I don't think he expected to start from day one.
I am nearly 100% certain that our players are much more metally tough than you all and will not let a lack of playing time their freshmen year deter them from their ultimate goals of helping LSU win a championship sometime in their careers.
