Those 2 events are why most of Louisiana’s parish clerk of court records back to the early 1800’s have been scanned, indexed, and digitized.
Of course most individual parish clerk of courts sell access to the digital database to the tune of 600-900 dollars a year or 20 dollars a day, plus 1 dollar per page for you to get a printable copy.
It is worth it if you are an attorney, but if you need to access multiple different parish clerk of court databases it can get to be a money racket pretty quickly.
