And no one is there to get them the ball!! Before the season started everyone said we'd be fine if we could just get someone to manage the game around all our skill players. Lee obviously isn't doing that and he's probably costing the upperclassmen trying to get drafted because they can't put up any good numbers. Oh yeah and more importantly he's costing us games too!!!!

Doesnt matter how they do really. The scouts know what they can do regardless of there on the field efforts this year. They have been in the league enough time for scouts to know who go IT.

Interesting since Lafell is third in the SEC in ReYds, ReTDs, and Receptions.

People don't realize how good that guy is.

Lafell is uncoverable. He just has butterfingers at times.

JoJo is having a good year, I am anxious to see what he runs at the pro-day/combine.

Byrd is a speedster and proven playmaker. If he runs a 4.3 look for him to fly up the draft boards.

It's not nearly as bad as it was last year.

I feel sorry that they drop the passes that do reach their hands. Believe me, the WRs have not done much to help Lee out this year.

The only stats that scouts are interested in are,

40 yard dash
shuttle
height
weight
hands
head

If they went by stats, then the Hawaii QB last year would have been the #1 draft pick.

If that was actually true Josh Barrett would have been a first rounder last year and Emitt Smith would have been a UDFA.

Neither is true.

You mustn't be watching ANY LSU games this year have you?

Why would you feel sorry for the WRS when they are dropping TONS of passes, and just as much as Lee is not helping them, they are not helping Lee.

We dropped about 6 balls yesterday. Our WRs DIRECTLY cost us 14 points, with Byrd's drop, which also gave Lee an INT that shouldn't have been, Mitchell's drop took off a Td for Lee and about 70 yards passing, and 2 or 3 other drops that killed drives.

Lee was not good at all against bama, but had the WRs caught the passes he DID throw, we would have won, Lee would have completed over 50% of his passes, with 2 TD and 2 INTs, instead of 1 and 4.

Great post! Receivers ran the wrong routes at least twice vs Bama.

First off, NO WR's are good enough to carry the load of this guy.

Secondly, The oppositions defenders seem to be helping Lee's TD's go up. The kid throws picks and I'm not even mad, but why are so many being taken back at an alarming rate? Thats generally not the sign of greatness. Man, I hope Lee turns out to be pretty good b-cuz if not, Miles will look like a bigger jackass than most fans and media believe him to be.

Miles has found it easier to win a NC than to win over the entire LSU fan base. Because he does not have the undying support of the full fan base, he has really rubbed the non-believers the wrong way and some of the believers are starting to question his stubborness with the QB situation. I'm sure he doesn't care but it would be really interesting if JJ got some PT against Troy and actually performed well, or even worse, BETTER than Lee does. WOW! That would be a really BAD situation for Miles being that he has stuck by Lee so long w/o so much as giving JJ a series of meaningful snaps.

I hope this all works out for Miles but I have a feeling that if JJ gets any snaps this year and performs well, the fan base will REALLy be divided and Lee will definitely be booed and under even MORE pressure from the fans. That knife cuts both ways. Miles is playing with fire and even as he attempts to help Lee, he may do more harm than help.

I'm in no way defending Lee's shitty performance.

But dont try to deflect that fact that the WRs directly cost us 14 points, and if they dont drop the 5 or 6 balls they did drop, we probably win and Lee finishes with 2 TDs and 2 INTs.

They could all help themselves, and the team, out by catching the balls that ARE thrown to them.

Don't get me wrong - I love 'em all, but, damn!!!! That first INT hit Byrd in both hands. He lost it before he got popped. Just before the half, JoJo had a bubble screen right in his hands that went "whoops", and he have scored on that play. It was set up beautifully!

That could have been the difference in the game had he made that simple catch.

Is Lee helping them much? Are they helping themselves? The answers to both questions are NO.

I somewhat agree, but Lee isn't even getting them the ball in the best place to make the play. That first pass to Byrd was behind him. Give it out front he makes the play.

It wasn't that tough of a catch. Yes, it was behind him, but he got both hands on it. He should have hauled it in.

Now, that said, Byrd wasn't the correct man to throw to on the play. Way too many red shirts around.

Dixon, who was lined up in the slot on the right side, was BY HIMSELF running a seam route. If you have the game recorded, go back and watch the wide angle replay. Get Dixon the ball and it's an easy 25+ yards.

It's obvious the game hasn't slowed down yet for Lee to feel comfortable enough looking off his primary receivers.
