a 2000 is pretty big for sacs, 1500 or 1000 series with a high gear ratio would be a better, lighter fit. Diawa in that size is pretty good.

I used to think this and would agree with you had you said 2500. While 1500 is probably perfect, 2000 is not that much bigger overall than 1000s and the biggest difference is in the spool size. This can be an advantage in some situations. I have many, many 1000s and only one each of 1500 and 2000. last year I found myself reaching for the 2000 more than any other rig. I wish 1500 was more common.

Not when you factor bass into the equation which is highly likely.
