Yea, the concept of police is failing everywhere, Scruffy agrees, but you need to realize that, legally, the police are not obligated to respond to anything.

It looks bad, but it has been ruled by the US Supreme Court that police officers, essentially, do not have to help you.

Flip side is that, if the police have no duty to head into a dangerous situation, all restrictions on law abiding citizens being armed need to go away.


If they can’t or won’t protect people, don’t charge people for protecting themselves.
