Back in the day you cracked the egg into a separate bowl to make sure it wasn’t an embryo.

Also, aren’t all eggs fertilized?

ETA. Googled it. Apparently not.

I'm convinced all women that weren't raised on a farm think this.

FACT: With farm raised eggs, don't wash them until time to crack them and they don't have to be refrigerated and will last a long time setting on the counter.
