Now, it's true that we've been instructed not to judge others, but we've either forgotten - or purposely misconstrued - what "judging" means in the context of scripture.

Judging =/= Counseling
Judging =/= Disagreement
Judging =/= Condemnation of behavior (i.e. love the sinner, hate the sin)
Excellent point.
We’ve misapplied the injunction to “judge not” as well. St. Paul makes clear harsher judgment, judgment that comes with excommunication or breaking fellowship, are for those within the Church who claim the name of Christ but live otherwise.
quote:

I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— not at all meaning the sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.

But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. For what have I to do with judging outsiders?

Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.”
1 Corinthians 5: 9-13
Pretty harsh, but in context Paul is addressing a situation where a church member is having sex with his father’s wife, his stepmother apparently.
quote:

It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, for a man has his father's wife. And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.
1 Corinthians 5: 1, 2.

This Lutheran “pastor” and wife ought to be shown the door and ignored. They’re not crazy, they’re deluded and evil. Their plans for the child are child abuse and they’re leading their flock to the pit.
quote:

And he said to his disciples, “Temptations to sin are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come!

It would be better for him if a millstone were hung round his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.
Luke 17: 1, 2
