Nah. Megatron and Joe Thomas were sure fire, can’t miss guys by everyone’s measure. Nobody thought Russel was that; high ceiling, low floor.

I think this is a little bit of revisionist history. Not everyone was sold on Jamarcus but nobody said it was a crazy pick.

The Lions and Browns had John Kitna and Derick Anderson as starting QBs respectively…the odds that either pass on Jamarcus were very low.

Yes that’s why they went 2 and 3. The Lions started 35 yo Jon Kitna in 2007, you think they are going WR over QB at one?

At the time no one questioned the Raiders pick, of course there were many with concerns about JR, there were concerns about his work ethic at LSU that’s why he split time with Marcus Randal as RSFR and was benched for the first half of the bowl vs Iowa that year
