Pretty much everyone would have taken Calvin Johnson there. Joe Thomas was an elite OT prospect and available too. Neither had any character questions and were thought to be sure fire all pro type players, and they were.

If we were re drafting now that’s true, but at the time no, several teams would have taken Russell because he’s a QB it wasn’t just the Raiders. They just had the first pick
