Many of them live in a bubble and were convinced that if they hired Guidry, who played and coached at McNeese, he would never entertain other jobs at larger programs. Then he interviewed for the DB Coach at Florida State and they got butthurt. Prior to that, Guidry was open about not being scared to hire young guys that were on the way up and probably wouldn't be at McNeese for long. This also rubbed the McNeese bluebloods who live in that bubble the wrong way.

There’s a lot of old men that still believe it’s the 90s and nothing has changed. Pretty sad.
