Vinegar or no vinegar? Butter or no butter? Also, how much ketchup do you use? A fine line between yum yum sauce and thousand island dressing.

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

I personally add a splash of vinegar and no butter. I will also sometimes add a bit of hot slap ya mama and crushed red pepper flakes

When it comes to the vinegar, it can add a nice tangy flavor, but it's totally optional. If you prefer a milder sauce, feel free to skip it. As for butter, adding a small amount can give the sauce a rich and creamy texture, but again, it's not necessary if you're looking for a lighter option. When it comes to ketchup, start with a little and adjust to your liking. Too much can make the sauce too sweet and veer into thousand island dressing territory.
